Poll: Another attack on the US???
by Quincy inok everyone...what is everyones opinion on terrorism...i myself, feel that something else is going to happen, possibly on 9/11/02....what is everyone else's thoughts....not necessarily the same as mine...but does anyone think another attack will come?

The Earth Summit/USA/ a 'Christian' Democracy?

question.. if, just supposing that the united states of america was totally true to it's collective overall 'spirituality', would it be able as a country, to live up to the dictates of the country's own conscience, in acting out truthfully in accordance with what god himself expects of them to provide, to the best of their abilities, i.e.
really trying to do something about it all, rather than, side lining, procrastinating the big issues, whilst at the same time, being the largest consumeristic polluters of natural resources on the planet?.

I have to agree partially with everybody here, including Celtic. It is unfortunate that the USA will not join in the fun at the summit and contribute to a cleaner, safer, environment. I believe it is because of your presidents domestic policy to lend heavy assistance towards industry?
I do find it sad that the "world leader" will not back down in this area and help out.
But ..... Megadude, you are right, it does start at home as well! In the UK, we are hardly pure and beyond reproach in this area. Most people will not accept an alternate lifestyle if it means a drop in their standard of living. Myself, partially included. I recycle what I can, but am lazy in this area. I try to consume fairly (being a vegetarian helps as I am a fussy eater/consumer in general). Saying this though, I also like gadgets - computers / hi-fi equip' / consoles etc. So in my own way I support industry by my hobbies and interests.
It is hard not to be a hypocrite, but I believe in a small way that I do try.
Did you know, that across Europe the UK is known as "the dirty man" ..... nice eh! But if you visit some of our cities, you'll know why. There is a lack of respect and a lack of culture in England especially and this translates into the way we treat our cities. It has got better slightly where I live, but I still sense the air of selfishness that works against sound environmental policy.
Ahhh - its a huge problem and one that will not go away easily. We really would all need to pull together, but I can't see it happening.

virus - help
by bigfloppydog ini got an e-mail this morning, that said there is a virus problem, and since they had my address, i could be affected.
they then gave me 7 steps to follow to fix this, has anyone ever had this problem?.
they also said it could affect anyone who i have contact with through e-mail.. i do not know what to do.

Download the latest version of Norton Anti Virus and use this on your system. Keep Nortons up to date and make sure you enable the Email protection facility, this will block dodgy Emails and allow you to safely delete them.
Thats what I do and have no problems at the moment.
I also use the free firewall package - Zone Alarm to monitor intruders when I'm online.

1. Either turn off the computer and walk away - not always practical (at work of course).
2. Download Grid Runner ++ from here - this I find helps take stress away. I'm up to 6 1/2 million in the demo version, which was kinda stressful, as my wrist hurt after that session:

Interesting reading there mate. I think you have the right angle on the scripture. I have read this explanation before by amongst others - JanH.
The Watchtower guys take the reading out of context quite clearly and as you say - the blood issue is a matter of personal conscience and not an absolute rule for Christians to obey.
I think most right minded people would not drink blood anyway, as such. This is clearly to my way of thinking, quite perverse (although I am vegetarian as well, which enforces this viewpoint further).
However, as many of us know, using components of blood (the whole part, or fractions of) during a medical procedure is different and could be viewed as "caring & sharing" - helping to preserve life without slaughter. This is also done with full consent. A little different to the blood-letting that took place in some quarters around the time of Christ (whether that be animal or human sacrifice).

althouh i have gotten very few responses to my post i am convinced that most believe the protestant reformation program accurately symbolizes our own reformation efforts of the wts.

I've just worked out why Comforter communicates the way it does.
